Mindy Harada, CPP & Employment Tax Specialist

Bio

Mindy Harada is an employment tax specialist and has over 19 years of employment tax experience as an independent consultant, an employee with one of the Big 4 firms, and as a payroll tax auditor with the state of CA.

Ms Harada provides consulting services encompassing the complete array of human resource and payroll tax issues. These include payroll tax minimization studies, downsize consulting, payroll tax compliance reviews, and independent contractor studies. Mindy represents clients in many different industries at both the state and federal level during independent contractor and payroll compliance audits.

Now a sole proprietor, Ms. Harada previously was the west coast practice leader for the Employment Tax Practice at Deloitte Tax LLP. Ms. Harada’s prior employment as a Tax Auditor IV with the Employment Development Department, State of California, has allowed her to assist clients undergoing a payroll tax audit. She spent two years as a Hearing Specialist before the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board, representing the EDD during the administrative appeals process.

Ms. Harada is a frequent presenter on various employment tax topics at APA events on the west coast and for several payroll service providers on a national basis. She has presented before the California Society of CPAs and has also spoken at several California Payroll Conferences as well as Conferences in the Pacific Northwest and many other locations throughout the country.

Ms. Harada holds a B.S. in Business Administration, with a Concentration in Accounting from San Jose State University, San Jose, CA.

Ms. Harada is a Certified Payroll Professional.

Susan Giles , Leadership Professional

Bio

A powerful, positive and full-of life personality, Susan Giles brings a special touch of empathy with a ‘way of observing’ and a ‘way of being’ with her style of consulting, coaching and training. Susan receives enjoyment of serving others, bringing forth what the client values and cares about in assisting clients to design a personalized strategy that helps the client take new actions, one in which the client did not see as a possibility for themselves based on their current observations.


Susan works with clients in designing and creating a new possible future. Synergy and connectedness impact our experiences as we move through life. Having a shared future with others and shared purposeful goal is more perplexing and difficult when there is more than one person involved. Systems are not human beings. Susan brings experience of more than 20 years in business leadership, marketing, sales and consulting, applicable in healthcare, medical practices and new home sales. She has served as medical device sales development manager for over 15 years for a leading manufacturer of healthcare products world wide. Susan has gained invaluable insight to the business development, marketing, advertising, and sales operations best practices of this $3B multi-specialty industry leader.


According to Susan, her passion stems from the knowledge that people want to ‘connect’ with others and that the key to long term success is understanding the need and the value of personal and business relationships we develop and work with. Susan wanted the ability to make effective and efficient decisions in order to best serve her clients with her confidant consulting and coaching style.


Susan is most passionate about helping small business owners and managers define their purpose, based on what they truly value and care about. She wanted a deeper relational business, not a transactional one and really works with clients to visualize their true core value in their personal and business ventures. What really gets them excited about life? Susan continues to study and learn new information and deepening her services so that more possibilities can be explored and developed. When someone sees opportunities, life is exciting and filled with new possibilities and enthusiasm.


Ms. Giles is currently Professionally Consulting, Coaching, and Training in special areas of Real Estate and Medical Healthcare. Susan has resided in Folsom, CA for 20 years with family, her cats and dogs, and surrounded with friends. She enjoys the multiple nearby outdoor walking, hiking and biking trails in the pristine valley and gorges of the Folsom, Sierra Tahoe Region. These experiences and adventures have been the root and place of stability and source of strength needed during times of uncertainty. Susan claims ‘faith and perseverance’ were her souls source, that added clarity and focus in her own paths and journeys.
